Physiotherapy at High Peak Health Clinic 

Assessment is comprehensive and based on extensive experience and the latest research, with an emphasis on not only easing the pain, but on identifying why the injury occurred in the first place. Treatment may consist of manual and manipulative therapy, acupuncture, therapeutic exercise or taping.  

Initial appointments usually take 45 minutes and are charged at £58, while follow ups last 40 minutes and are charged at £48. 

Womens health appointments take an hour for the initial assessment and are charged at £90, while follow ups are charged at £48.

Michael Hunter Bsc (Hons) Physiotherapy, PgDip Trauma & Orthopaedics, CSP, HCPC registered

Mike graduated from Salford University in 2002. He has since worked both in private practice and in the NHS as part of a specialist Orthopaedic team dealing with post op spinal, hip and shoulder conditions. His areas of special areas include the spine, sporting shoulder injuries and cervicogenic (neck related) headache.

He uses a flexible combined approach to Physiotherapy incorporating manual therapy, acupuncture, strength and conditioning and Pilates (qualified with APPI). Mike maintains an active lifestyle participating in Olympic style weightlifting, Crossfit, Pilates, Yoga and walking his two dogs.


 

Jo Fawcett Bsc (Hons) Physiotherapy, CSP, HCPC registered. Clinical Specialist Shoulders & Knees.

Jo qualified with a First Class BSc Honours Degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Salford in 2002. On graduation she commenced work within the NHS where she continues to work as an Extended Scope Practitioner within the Orthopaedic clinics with a special interest in knees and shoulders. Aside from this Jo has worked in the Private sector since 2004.

Jo is also a trained Pilates teacher, and has been teaching Pilates since 2014.


 

Sarah Higgins BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, CSP, HCPC registered, Womens Health Clinical Specialist

Sarah is a clinical specialist pelvic health physiotherapist with over twenty years’ experience, having worked both in the NHS and now based in the private sector, at The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle. She is bringing her knowledge and expertise to a more local environment here at Hayfield Physiotherapy & High Peak Health Clinic

Sarah’s clinical expertise includes post-natal assessment and treatment, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, lower bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, endometriosis, vaginismus, and a holistic approach to the management and prevention of menopause symptoms. Treatment includes a combination of hands-on techniques, education and advice, relaxation and breathing techniques, bladder drill training, and exercise prescription/modification; and is underpinned by the latest research and NICE Guidelines.
