Dr Emma Ward

MBChB MRCGP DRCOG DFFP

Graduated from Manchester Medical School in 2003 and subsequently completed her training to become a GP . Dr Ward has worked in the High Peak and Stockport area and whilst enjoying the variety that General Practice offers, decided to undergo further training in Women’s Health; gaining postgraduate diplomas from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health.

Dr Ward is Certified with the International Society of Gynaecological Endocrinology, and is presently in the last few months of training with the British Menopause Society with the aim of achieving the Advanced Menopause Certificate. Outside of work she enjoys staying active through dance, hiking, mountain biking and spending time with her husband and 2 young children.

Sarah Higgins, Womens Health Physiotherapist

Sarah is a clinical specialist pelvic health physiotherapist with over twenty years’ experience, having worked both in the NHS and now based in the private sector, at The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle. She is bringing her knowledge and expertise to a more local environment here at Hayfield Physiotherapy & High Peak Health Clinic

Sarah’s clinical expertise includes post-natal assessment and treatment, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, lower bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, endometriosis, vaginismus, and a holistic approach to the management and prevention of menopause symptoms. Treatment includes a combination of hands-on techniques, education and advice, relaxation and breathing techniques, bladder drill training, and exercise prescription/modification; and is underpinned by the latest research and NICE Guidelines.
